Setting up XDA II for GPRS

aka XDA IIi, MDA II, Qtek 2020, i-mate Phone Edition, SPV M1000, Movistar tsm 500, Dopod 696 , Vodafone VPA, Telefonica TSM500, Krome Navigator F1, HTC Himalaya

Menu options may change slightly for different versions of firmware.

Network Setup:

  1. From the Start Menu, select Settings -> Connections Tab -> Connections Icon
  2. From the Connections Menu, select Add a new modem connection from the My ISP section
  3. Set Name for the connection to anything you like (this is how you will refer to this connection)
  4. Select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G) from the Select Modem drop down list
  5. Click on the Next button
  6. Set the Access Point Name to the value relevant to the Operator
  7. Click on the Next button
  8. Set the User Name to the value relevant to the Operator
  9. Set the Password to the value relevant to the Operator
  10. Leave the Domain field blank
  11. Click the Advanced button
  12. Ensure that the Use server-assigned IP address is selected
  13. Click on the Servers tab
  14. Check the Use specific server address radio button
  15. Set the DNS to the value relevant to the Operator
  16. Set the Alt DNS to the value relevant to the Operator
  17. Click the ok button in the top right hand corner
  18. Click the Finish button
