Setting up Nokia N80 for GPRS


  1. Goto Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access Points.
  2. Select Options > New Access Point > Use Default Settings.
  3. Enter an appropriate connection name.
  4. Set Data Bearer to 'Packet Data'.
  5. Set APN to Operator's setting.
  6. Set Username to Operator's setting.
  7. Set Prompt Password to 'No'.
  8. Set Password to Operator's setting.
  9. Set Authentication to 'Normal'.
  10. Set Homepage to 'None'.
  11. Return to Connection Settings screen.
  12. Select Packet Data.
  13. Set Packet Data connectivity to 'when needed'.
  14. Set Access Point to Operator's APN setting.

Other notes:

*When you open your internet browser you maybe asked ‘Connection to server needed. Connect? Select Yes You will then see ‘Connecting via name’. If this is different to one created in step 5, please follow the below settings
15 Web > Options > Access Point > select ‘User Defined’ then the newly created setting in step 5
