Setting up Nokia 3230 for GPRS


Menu options may change slightly for different versions of firmware.

Network Setup:

  1. From the Menu screen, select Settings -> Connection -> Access Points
  2. Select Options -> New Access Point -> Use Default Settings
  3. Set Connection Name to anything you like (this is how you will refer to this connection)
  4. Set Data Bearer to GPRS
  5. Set Access Point Name to to the value relevant to the Operator
  6. Set User Name to the value relevant to the Operator
  7. Set Prompt Password to No
  8. Set Password to the value relevant to the Operator
  9. Set Authentication type to Normal
  10. Set Homepage to None
  11. Return to Connection Settings Screen
  12. Select GPRS
  13. GPRS should be set to 'when needed'
  14. Select Access Point and enter the same Access Point info as the APN set up above
