Setting up a BlackBerry device connection


Menu options may change slightly for different versions of firmware.

  1. Press the BlackBerry menu button to open the main applications menu
  2. Select the Options icon
  3. Select Advanced Options
  4. Select TCP (if this setting is not available, please see below)
  5. Enter the APN for your Operator settings
  6. Enter the username for your Operator settings
  7. Enter the password for your Operator settings
  8. Press the BlackBerry menu button and select save
  9. Scroll to and select Save
  10. Return to the main application menu screen

If you are using your BlackBerry on a corporate network, you may need to configure an Internet Proxy service, details of how to do this can be provided by your Systems Administrator and by referring the BlackBerry user guide from Research in Motion.

Installing Mobile Marketmaker

  1. Using your BlackBerrys Internet browser, go to http://mobile.cmcmarkets.com
  2. Navigate through UK -> SB -> BlackBerry Spreadbet
  3. Select the Marketmaker icon to accept the download
  4. When prompted tick the 'Set application permissions' box
  5. View the Permissions for the application
  6. Select "Connections" and change the option to "Allow" for all connections
  7. Save the settings and allow the download to complete
