We would like to make you aware of a change to European banking guidelines which will affect the way you deposit and withdraw money from your CMC Markets account. From January 1st 2007, payments in Euros must now include both the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and the Bank Identifier Code (BIC) for your bank account. Payments in other currencies can also use this new standard. The IBAN is a European standard for bank account numbers and the BIC is the unique identification code of a particular bank and are used in conjunction to allocate funds to the relevant bank accounts. Making payment to CMC Markets When making payments in Euros to CMC Markets, please quote CMC Markets' BIC and the IBAN:
You can also use the IBAN & BIC for Pounds Sterling:
. . . . . . . Withdrawing money from your account For CMC Markets to pay funds to your own bank account we require the IBAN and BIC code for your bank. If you do not know your IBAN or BIC, please contact your bank who can advise you of these. Please make sure you quote your IBAN and BIC in any withdrawal request. The new Withdrawal Form accomodates these new requirements to help you request payments from CMC Markets. To protect our clients against fraud, any deposits that you made through a debit or credit card may be returned to the card the payment was taken from. These returns may take up to 5 days to appear on your statement. . . . . . . . Failure to quote either the IBAN or BIC code after January 1st 2007 may result in a delay or possible rejection of the payment. Banks are also entitled to impose a penalty charge if either number is missing. If you have any questions about these changes, contact us by email helpdesk@cmcmarkets.co.uk or call us on +44 (0)20 7170 8205. Best regards The team at CMC
