Marketmaker® install on Windows 95?
Do I have to install
Marketmaker® to my 'C:' Drive?
® will not run on Windows 95 because the SunJava application we use is not
compatible with Windows 95
Do I need to download the latest
SunJava manually for Marketmaker® to work?
No. During the Installation, you can customise the location where you want
® to install to.
Do I need to install the CD if I've
already installed Marketmaker® from the website?
No. Built into the Installation of Marketmaker
® are the setup files for SunJava. The
install process will examine your machine to determine whether you need the SunJava program, and if so, will
download and install it automatically from our servers.
Can I get a replacement CD-ROM?
No. The Installation file on the CD-ROM and from the website are the same. They install SunJava and the core
® program code. After they've been installed,
® automatically checks a server, to find and then download, any updates
or additional code it requires.
If I use a new PC, will I need to
fully install Marketmaker® again?
If you lose your CD-ROM or it becomes unreadable, then just contact the
for another one, quoting your account number and the postal
address you want the CD-ROM to be sent to.
How long will it take to download from
Yes. If you use a different computer than your normal one, such as in an Internet Cafe or you buy a new replacement
PC, you will need to either install the CD-ROM or download and install the file from our website. Once the
Installation is complete, login as normal and everything will be as you left it.
Which versions of Windows will
Marketmaker® work on?
Depending upon your Internet connection, we estimate that it will take 5-15 minutes if you have broadband and
between 45-60 minutes if you have a 56K dial-up modem. The setup file is approximately 21MB in size.
Should I install the latest Service
Pack / Patches from Microsoft?
® will run on Windows 2000/XP (Home & Professional) or above. It will
NOT work on Windows 95/98/ME.
Yes. Installing the latest Service Pack and patches, for whichever version of Windows you run is always a good
idea, as these will solve alot of problems and should make Windows run much more reliably.
® and any other program you have installed will benefit from this
indirectly. Go to http://www.windowsupdate.com
, have Microsoft's web
site scan your machine and install any upgrades it suggests.
